Rodney Miller, Esq., Board Chairman
Rodney graduated from Auburn University at Montgomery with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration before obtaining his juris doctorate from Cumberland School of Law. He currently practices law at Methvin Terrell, P.C. Rodney and his wife serve in leadership on the prayer team at Church of the Highlands where they have attended since 2003. He is honored to have the opportunity to be in leadership within the Blessed Brokenness ministry, which has directly impacted his marriage for God’s glory.
Ben Wear, Esq., Board Vice Chair
Ben graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s of Science in Accountancy and a Masters degree in Tax. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Cumberland School of Law. He now owns and operates a concierge law firm that focuses on corporate law. Ben and his wife, Mallory, walked a season of infertility and have a miracle baby boy.
Mary Leah Miller, Esq., Board Secretary
Mary Leah Miller graduated from Duke University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and History, then received her juris doctorate from Cumberland School of Law. As an attorney, her focused practice is in the area of automotive product liability litigation and the representation of individuals who have been catastrophically injured or killed. She serves in leadership through the Prayer Ministry at Church of the Highlands where she has worshiped since 2003. Through Blessed Brokenness, Mary Leah found purpose in her season of waiting and is honored to help support and encourage other women on their journeys.
Lewis Mouron, Board Treasurer
Lewis Mouron graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce and Business Administration before obtaining his Master’s in Accountancy from the University. Alongside his two brothers, Lewis is a principal of Capstone Real Estate Investments and serves as the Chief Financial Officer. Lewis and his wife Allyson have two children and are members of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Mountain Brook, AL.
Dr. Karen Hammond, CRNP-DN, Board Member
Dr. Karen Hammond is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She has worked in the field of reproductive endocrinology and infertility since 1985. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, she received her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees from the University of Alabama School of Nursing in Birmingham. She is nationally certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, as well as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Dr. Hammond is happily married to Dr. Nicholas Cataldo, a reproductive endocrinologist/epidemiologist. She is a member of South Highland Presbyterian Church.
Sheena Q. Gregg, M.S., RDN, LD, Board Member
Sheena Q. Gregg, MS,RDN,LD is a registered dietitian, nutritionist, and an Assistant Director in the Dept. of Health Promotion and Wellness at The University of Alabama. She currently serves as President of the Alabama Dietetic Association, which represents dietitians across the state of Alabama. She works daily to help her clients establish a healthy relationship with food while meeting their health goals. Her main area of expertise is eating disorders, but she also treats those with PCOS, endometriosis, and other fertility-related medical conditions. Her passions include serving as a wife and mother to her husband Terry and son Sam Asher, as well as sharing her testimony through the experience of infertility. She is an active member of Church of the Highlands in Tuscaloosa and has a personal ministry of helping young women use their faith as a compass for effective and powerful leadership at home and in the workplace.

Taylor Hart, CPFA, CFP®, Board Member
Taylor graduated from Samford University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business with a concentration in Finance. He joined Jackson Wealth Management of Merrill Lynch as an Associate and later became a Financial Advisor. There, he and his team help create custom financial planning strategies for clients all over the nation. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and was named to Forbes “Best-in-State Next Generation Wealth Advisor”, Forbes “Top 250 Next-Generation Wealth Advisors” 2019 and 2020, and Forbes “Best-in State Wealth Advisors” 2020. Taylor lives in Birmingham, AL with his wife, Jen, and two daughters, Rory and Ellis.
Chinika Mardis, Board Member
Chinika Mardis graduated from Jacksonville State University with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Wellness with a concentration in Sports Medicine. She currently works for Alabama Power Company as a Customer Care Associate II. Having walked the journey of infertility, Chinika also has served as co-leader for A Blessed Womb small group and served in many of the Blessed Brokenness projects since its beginning. Chinika and her husband recently adopted their miracle baby boy and look forward to blessing others through the ministry of this organization.
Anna Ballowe Plaskett, Board Member
Anna Bollowe graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Environmental Sciences. After college she worked in the design field until becoming a mother. She and her husband, Claude, have settled down in her hometown of Birmingham, Alabama with their daughter, Lulu. Anna Ballowe and Claude have walked their own journey of infertility and loss, so she felt led to serve through Blessed Brokenness so others walking the same struggle would know that they are not alone.
Brooke Rebarchak, Esq., Board Member
Brooke Rebarchak graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. After college, Brooke received her Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law and began her practice at Methvin Terrell, P.C. She serves as a board member of the Birmingham-Southern Young Alumni Council and is an active a member of the Rotaract Club of Birmingham.
Grace Williams, M.S., CCC-SLP, Board Member
Grace graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She received a Master’s in Speech Language Pathology at Florida State University before moving to Pittsburgh, PA with her husband. After moving and living in three different states, Grace and her husband settled into Birmingham, Alabama where she currently works as a Speech and Language Pathologist at UAB’s Spain Rehab. Grace and her husband have one daughter and another daughter on the way via a gestational carrier.
Marlena Shipp, Esq., Board Member
Marlena Shipp graduated from Auburn University Montgomery with a Bachelor’s of Science in Justice and Public Safety. After college, Marlena obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law. Marlena is currently a Staff Attorney for the United States District Court. She enjoys leading small groups and supporting women through life’s journeys. Marlena is happily married to Walter Shipp and has an adult son.
